Free Trial

No. Your 14-day Favored trial activates from your account — we'll only ask for a card if you decide to subscribe.

After 14 days you move to Free automatically — no charge, no card needed. Saved murmurs stay in your library. Your account and streak stay too.

Yes. We'll email you at day 7 and day 11. Nothing is charged until day 14, and only if you've subscribed.

Yes. Subscribe any time and your trial days carry through. Billing starts when the trial ends.

Plans

Yes. Upgrades apply immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of your billing cycle, so you keep what you have until then.

Billing

The 7-day no-questions window applies to your first charge — contact us at payments@murmur.gg to request a refund.

Stripe retries automatically over a few days, and we'll email you so you can update your card. If it doesn't go through, you move to Free until it's resolved.

Yes. Cancel in your account settings. You keep your current access until the billing period ends, then move to Free. Account, streak, and saved favorites stay.

A prorated refund will be issued. The 7-day no-questions window applies as well.

Yes. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly or yearly depending on your plan. We'll email you before it happens, and the 7-day refund window applies to renewals too.

Beta Users

50% off if you subscribe before June 3 — your first 3 months on monthly, or your full first year on annual.

May 20 to June 3. We'll remind you on launch day and again halfway through. After June 3, standard pricing applies.

You move to Free with everything intact — saved favorites, streak, history. Standard pricing applies whenever you subscribe later.

At month four, monthly subscribers renew at the standard rate. We'll email before it happens. Switching to annual before then locks in the annual discount long-term.

What is Murmur?

Murmur is First-Person Voice — fictional characters speaking to you by name, for whatever you're going through, the way only they would say it. Not a chatbot. Not a recording. A voice that knows your name.

No. You don't perform here. You set the scene — they speak. You listen.

They speak to you — "I" and "you." Not narration. Not about you. To you.

Yes. What you create stays with you unless you choose to share it. No feeds, no profiles, no one watching what you replay. Voices you upload default to private too.

Ways to Murmur

Different entry points depending on what you need:

Scenario — full immersive audio. Set the moment, set the mood, receive a murmur built around it.
Pulse Check — a quick voice note. Small, fast, right from the homepage when you want something in the moment.
Check-in — share your day, hear back from them. Evening ritual.
Horoscope — your daily star reading, in their voice.
Daily Drop — a voice note from your character, once a day. No setup needed.
Stories — longer audio arcs to go deeper with an Original Character.
Goodnight Murmur — between 8pm and 4am in your local time, a Goodnight Murmur button appears on the homepage. A soft close to the day.

A short audio moment — around 50 seconds — meant for daily use. Quick to set up, right from the homepage.

A longer, more immersive audio moment. You pick the moment ("he calls you after the argument," "late night drive home"), set the mood and tone, and your character speaks.

A Scenario mode where you paste in your own text — up to 10,000 words — and your character reads it back to you.

On the Scenario page, pick a mood (Tender, Playful, Intense, Comfort, Seductive) and a tone (Gentle, Heated, Explicit). Nothing surfaces unless you set it.

An evening ritual. Tell your character about your day and hear back from them.

A daily star reading, in your character's voice. Pick who reads it.

A voice note from your character, delivered once a day by email or Telegram — whichever you prefer. No setup needed.

A soft close to the day. Between 8pm and 4am your local time, a Goodnight Murmur button appears on the homepage.

Longer audio arcs with our Original Characters — for when you want to go deeper than a single moment.

Characters & Voices

Meet Our Originals:

Vesper Slate, The Scalpel — the most brilliant mind in any room, who turns his phone face-down mid-ring because you're mid-sentence.
Callum Rhys, The Golden Boy — the man who could have anyone, who built an empire and made it look like luck. Yours, underneath.
Ren Koda, The Emperor — commands everything. Answers to no one. Asks "did you eat?" in a whisper.
Sable Maren, The Supernova — electric, magnetic, always moving. Until you.

Alongside the Originals, there's a growing community voice library — voices brought in by other listeners for characters they love.

Yes. If there's a character you want to hear from and they're not in the library, you can upload a voice and bring them in yourself.

A few ground rules:

Fully fictional characters only. No real people, no voice actors, no live-action film versions, no idols.
Voices you upload stay private by default. To share to the community library, contact a mod via Discord.
We moderate the library so it stays a safe, warm place.

Yes. They learn your preferences, your moods, your comfort triggers. Every murmur feels more like yours.

Fill in Preferences (name, tones, pronouns) and the About You cards — interests, what you eat, whether you play an instrument, any allergies. The more they know, the more it sounds like they're actually speaking to you.

Memory is shared across features — a Pulse Check, a Scenario, a Check-in all pull from the same pool. But it's not shared across characters. What you say to one character is his to hold.

Preferences & Control

Yes. In Preferences you'll find:

Desires — set the energy you want (gentle, protective, teasing, playful, intense) and the things you love. You can also set preferred pet names.
Boundaries — topics to avoid and pet names that don't work. Anything listed here stays out across every character, every murmur.

Yes. There's a Language toggle in Preferences. Turn on "English only" and characters who speak multiple languages will only speak English to you.

Yes. In Preferences → Memory, you can see how many memories are stored and across how many characters. There's a Clear all memory option if you ever want a fresh start.

Yes. Email privacy@murmur.gg and we'll delete it within 45 calendar days of your verified request.

Streaks

We mark the days you come back. Any one of: Pulse Check, Check-In, Scenario, Gift, Horoscope, Goodnight Murmur, or Daily Drop keeps it alive. One per day is enough. Daily caps reset at midnight your local time.

A freeze protects your streak on a missed day — it uses itself automatically, no action needed. You earn one freeze every 10 days of streak.

Rewards depend on your plan:

Free: a Scenario at Day 7 and Day 15, then a 3-day Favored trial at Day 30
Favored: a Scenario at Day 7, an immersive Scenario at Day 15, and a 3-day Beloved trial at Day 30
Beloved: 2 Scenarios at Day 7, 2 at Day 15. Day 30 unlocks early access to audio episode launches and exclusive choose-your-own-adventure series.
